We’re with you. #BLM

Arledge Comics believes that all human life has value. We believe that Black lives matter and that Black voices need to be heard. We support the need for social reform and for speaking out. We stand with the Black community against systemic racism and violence.

To show respect to – and solidarity with – the BLM protests, Arledge Comics will be abstaining from crowdfunding or heavily promoting any new titles for the time being. Our mission has always been to elevate marginalized voices. It is not our voice that needs attention right now. Our communities are crying out, and we want that cry heard.

In addition to pausing our own promotion, we are turning our time and efforts to promoting and supporting black creatives. On June 15th, we’ll be hosting a Twitter thread in hopes of promoting and raising up the voices of black creatives. A number of creators will also be featured in our newsletter for the next month.

Lastly, we’re expanding our charity anthology – What’s Left? We feel the sentiment of this volume carries beyond Covid-19. We’ll be accepting additional submissions, focusing on hope and community in the wake of violence and discrimination. Submissions will be accepted through the month of June – remembering that the first Pride was a riot.

A portion of proceeds will fund ten (10) mini grants for creators affected by Covid-19. Additional proceeds will be donated to a BLM charity voted on by creators.

Stay safe, and stay strong.
